Product Description

Roast: Dark

Certification: Organic

Flavor Profile: Heavy body with hints of caramelized sugar and bittersweet chocolate, with a lingering cocoa finish.

This is the espresso that I knew as a child from my parents' obsession with "cortaditos"-- a shot of espresso with an equal amount of steamed milk. We formulated our Espresso Latino to recreate the bold, rich, smoky flavors that you expect from the little CUBAN walk-up cafes—and most Latin American coffee-drinking households. The trick to making this blend just right is to use very clean, high-quality beans with deep body that we roast using our SIGNATURE Latin roast process. This draws out the depth of flavors and creates a sweet smokiness that is distinct to Latin American espresso. We are very proud of our representation of espresso the way I grew up knowing it to be: dark, sweet, and bold. It’s perfect to drink straight, with sugar, or topped with steamed milk. It can also be enjoyed in a drip brewer. So pull a shot or brew a pot, sit back, and relax with the RICH and sweet SMOKY, COCOA flavors of our signature Espresso Latino.

  5. Rich Coffee & Tip for Salvaging Your Grinder 5 Star Review

Posted by on 3rd Nov 2014

I love this coffee but like most very dark roasts it's very oily, which does tend to jam up my grinder. Solution: empty grinder, put a half-cup to a cup of uncooked white rice, preferably long-grain, into coffee receptacle and grind it through. Repeat until ground rice comes through almost white. Also, before leaving home for more than a few days I empty grinder and run some rice through - otherwise the ground coffee still in the grinder dries out and clogs it. Works like a charm with my big basic KitchenAid electric grinder, though I can't speak to how it would work with other grinders.

Wow - I love this coffee. It is very Cuban - rich and delicious... Chocolate overtones with a touch of smoke. Takes me right to a street in little Cuba Miami...

  9. Beans are a bit oily 3 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Dec 2013

I have been looking for an espresso bean that I can buy locally that is not oily. After moving for California to Maryland, I started buying oily beans due to convenience but they were causing issues with my machine and my repair people told me I needed to go back to non-oily beans or my machine was going to keep needing more repairs. So, I went back to ordering Blue Bottle Coffee. However, once I have to pay for shipping, the price gets pretty high and I have to wait quite a while for my orders to arrive.

So, I tried Mayorga in hopes of getting a local product. These beans still have quite a bit of oil added to them. I am not sure why this is. I think it must help with their roasting equipment, but it destroys my Saeco Vienna super-automatic machine at home. So, this one isn't going to work for me. Too bad. The rest of the bag went into the garbage.

I did like the dark flavor of this roast a lot. the flavor was really nice. It was a bit much for my husband.

I was really please with the very quick and free delivery. I am hoping to try some of the other blends in hopes that they do not have oil added to them.

  10. i Tremendo café ! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 11th Sep 2013
