Flavor Profile: Full body with hints of cocoa and a bold, stout finish.
High-quality African coffees are incredibly distinct. They tend to have WILD FRUIT UNDERTONES and a very LIVELY FINISH. This distinctive flavor profile is most likely due to the fact that coffee was originally discovered growing wild in Ethiopia, making East Africa the birthplace of the original coffee varietals. In an effort to celebrate and best represent the distinctive flavors of African coffees, we have created this blend using exceptional coffees from the highlands of KENYA, ETHIOPIA, and UGANDA. Our slow roast process, taken to a medium level, develops the richness of these coffees while allowing the distinctively African coffee flavor profile to shine through. The result is a distinctively SWEET and FRUITY cup that finishes with a WINEY note.

For several years, I had access to a small local roaster who would custom roast my personal blend which was Kenya AA and Yirgacheff. About a year ago, the business decided to get "bigger" and as a result left me witout the ability to create my own blend. I was then forced to shop in local supermarkets where I came across your African Blend which I assumed might contain some Kenya AA in the blend. I was excited to try it because several years prior, someone gave me a pound of your Kenya AA and it was excellent. I do understand that the popularity of Kenya AA and a couple of poor growing seasons forced that bean into a totally different pricing and availability structure. After buying all of that stores African Blend they put up a sign stating that the item was currently unavailable! I then visited 2 other sister stores and proceeded to clean them out as well. It was at that point that I first decided to check out the web site and was pleasently surpriswed to see it available have bought it in the 2 lb. package twice so far.
The blend is one of the best available, both online as well in some supermarkets, that consistently delivers a robust cup of coffee. It stands up nicely to cream and sugar(sorry, I know...cream and sugar????). I am quite pleased with this blend for consistency of the product, ease of of ordering and the excellent customer service that I've experienced so far. Keep the reputation going strong. I am so pleased to have rediscovered the Mayorga brand.

Can’t quite distinguish the aroma of the beans, but to me it’s not cocoa. The aroma is delightfully complex, and the taste is rich and creamy; its boldness is shy. (not as bold as other African roasts I’ve tried.) Love the lingering silky, after taste. I easily had 4 cups in the morning!

We were advised to try this blend when the Kenya Serengeti Estate coffee was no longer available. It has proven to be slightly different, but equally as good, as the coffee we had come to love over several years. The price is very competitive, and the quality and freshness are unsurpassed. This is a real winner!

I recently purchased a pound of your wonderful coffee beans at my local Stop and Shop. When I opened the bag, I was so excited to see those beautiful whole(no chips or pieces} beans with glistening sweetness enveloping each one. I am an avid Starbucks customer, but usually disappointed when I purchase their whole beans. I love the fact that your Company is dedicated to being a user-friendly participant of our natural recourse here on Earth.I bought a bag of dark roast African Blend, and I can tell you it is by far one of the best coffees i have ever brewed. Thank You for making my day! You have another new customer!

If you like a deep, dark, rich roast, this is an excellent coffee. Not at all bitter, very smooth.
