About Our Organic Cafe Cubano

As a child, Martin Mayorga spent time at cigar factories with his father, interacting with Cuban cigar makers who had fled Castro's government in the 1960's. He recalled the men playing dominos, talking about their plight upon leaving their home country, and drinking a distinctly dark, syrup coffee. Later in his childhood, when the Mayorga family fled Nicaragua, Martin was able to appreciate first hand this rich coffee while spending time with his father and Cuban immigrants who had also fled to Miami.

Our Café Cubano is an homage to the culture and distinct flavor that Martin still appreciates to this day and that brings him back memories of his father and others who fled their governments to find freedom in the United States. This profile is achieved through the specific coffees used and the roast process which we apply to achieve a distinct rich, smoky flavor with a smooth finish.

Please note that this coffee does not contain any ingredients from Cuba nor is it in any way an endorsement of the Castro’s government and its practices.

I love this Mayorga coffee, I recently came to Baltimore and went to the Mexican restaurant on the Harbor, and my friend told me this was some good coffee, Well it was on the harbor, I went to get a cup and just fell head over heels. No other coffee like it so I have been getting it shipped to my house. Thanks Mayorga!

Everyone, and I mean everyone, who drinks coffee at our house says its the best coffee they've ever tasted anywhere. We use Cafe Cubano.

I've been getting Cafe Cubano for a year or so from Costco. Rich, dark, and flavorful.... normally. This last order came and it seems like an ordinary-ish, uninspiring medium roast. Mix up at the factory? I'll keep drinking it...

Just purchased my first bag of Cafe Cubano and was very impressed. Deep rich flavor with a smooth taste. Every good as I had hoped.

One of my very favorite Mayorga coffee roasts. I use it in my espresso maker to the great pleasure of all who drink coffee at my house, grinding the beans fresh every time. Smooth, flavorful and rich.

Great coffee. We grind out own beans and coffee press it. But I can't imagine why this wouldn't be great in ANY coffee pot. Flavor perfection!
